also explore how to work together and accomplish these
responsibilities. Plus, you will have the chance to build
relationships that could help you as a district volunteer.
D69 – Trainer’s Edge/Trainer Development Conference
The Trainer’s EDGE replaces the Trainer Development
Conference (BSA 500) as the required train-the-trainer
course for Wood Badge and NYLT staffs. It is meant to
supplement the practice offered through Wood Badge and NYLT
staff development, with a focus on the participant, while
raising the level of skill a trainer brings to the staff
experience. Only practice can polish these skills, but this
course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and
resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and
media.

new board members.

a new commissioner, this course will help you understand the
duties of the Commissioner, and how to best work with the
units that you have been assigned.
Five Star University of Scouting
This is a cooperative training venture of five councils
serving Wisconsin and part of Illinois. This conference
provides continuing education for commissioners working at
the unit, roundtable, district and council levels and all
volunteer Scouters. Courses are designed for all experience
levels.
Staffing the District Committee (on-line)
A healthy district committee, with sufficient resources
to support all functions, is essential to provide adequate
support to Scouting units. This training module discusses
the importance of a fully staffed committee, including a
game that simulates the task of locating, recruiting, and
retaining committee members to build a healthy committee.
