D61 – District Committee Training Workshop
offers insight into how to create a successful district. This training helps you and your district committee start its year as a focused, well-coordinated group of Scouters better prepared to achieve the mission of the district and council. This course is recommended for District Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and New Unit Organizers - as well as committee chairs and members of District Membership, Finance and Training committees. Also, members of Camping Promotion and Outdoor Committees, District Activities and Civic Service Committees and District Advancement and Recognition Committees will benefit.  Whether you are already a district volunteer or are new to the job, this half-day program will show what your responsibilities are on the District Committee or your district project team. Experienced volunteers and professional Scouters will lead sessions that also explore how to work together and accomplish these responsibilities. Plus, you will have the chance to build relationships that could help you as a district volunteer.

D69 – Trainer’s Edge/Trainer Development Conference
The Trainer’s EDGE replaces the Trainer Development Conference (BSA 500) as the required train-the-trainer course for Wood Badge and NYLT staffs. It is meant to supplement the practice offered through Wood Badge and NYLT staff development, with a focus on the participant, while raising the level of skill a trainer brings to the staff experience. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media.

D71 – Council Officer/Board Orientation (Currently not offered in SE Wisconsin Council)
Orientation for councils officers and executive board members. Used by local councils to enhance the effectiveness of their officers and board members usually after the election of new officers and as a part of the orientation of new board members.

D72 – Training the Chartered Organization Representative – One evening course to help the Chartered Organization Rep understand the relationship between their organization and the Scouting unit(s) they are chartering.  Topics include an overview of the BSA, information about charters, roles and responsibilities of the Chartered Organization Representative, “when you need unit leadership,” and more information about Scouting resources.

DFS – Commissioner Fast Start (on-line) - If you are a new commissioner, this course will help you understand the duties of the Commissioner, and how to best work with the units that you have been assigned.

Five Star University of Scouting
This is a cooperative training venture of five councils serving Wisconsin and part of Illinois.  This conference provides continuing education for commissioners working at the unit, roundtable, district and council levels and all volunteer Scouters.  Courses are designed for all experience levels.

Staffing the District Committee (on-line)
A healthy district committee, with sufficient resources to support all functions, is essential to provide adequate support to Scouting units. This training module discusses the importance of a fully staffed committee, including a game that simulates the task of locating, recruiting, and retaining committee members to build a healthy committee.

Highlight: The District should be the first place a unit goes for help, be ready to help your units succeed
